How to register to vote as an independent by state
Not all states record or require a voter to register with a political party, and those that do often make it less than clear how to change one’s affiliation.
A word of warning. The American Independent Party is another party with a very specific agenda. Look for language like: “No, I do not want to disclose a political party preference.”
